A mush of partly fluid and partly solid rock material from which migmatite arises by consolidation. If the amount of its liquid portion becomes great enough, it will acquire mobility and may intrude into its surroundings in typical eruptive or intrusive fashion.

On peut en suivre les phases [d'une mobilisation) , car elle s'est trouvée fixée suivant les points à un degré plus ou moins avancé au moment de la cristallisation définitive. Dans les premières phases la matière se disloque suivant des fentes irrégulières et discontinues, suivant des fissures aveugles emplies aussitôt par des filonnets d'ichor. Dans les phases suivantes la mobilisation s'accentue; de la nébulite se crée et çà et là des amas de granites importants. C'est cet état hétérogène de la matière avant cristallisation définitive que Reinhard (1936) appelle "migma".
