Manipulation of atoms and nanostructuring: in september 1993 an AIO has started to study the interaction of a STM-tip and a surface by computer simulations, using a special purpose computer that has been developed in Delft. The goal of the project is to find strategies to build structures on a surface by manipulating atoms with a STM = 46rom 1994 the UHV-STM with capacitive sensors will be used for the experimental manipulation-research from 1994.
