National Oceanographic Committee of the Russian Federation (NOC RF) was established by the decision of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 771 of 11 october 1992 in order to ensure international scientific and technical cooperation in the field of oceanography and participation of the Russian Federation in the activities of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) UNESCO.
