In recognition of the importance of protecting our natural heritage, the Government of Canada will commit $90 million over three years and, in subsequent years, will stabilize funding at $45 million annually to create a National Strategy on Species at Risk. Under this strategy, the Government will introduce federal species protection legislation and stewardship programs, which will build on the work done with provincial and territorial partners under the Accord for the Protection of Species at Risk. Conscient de l'importance de la protection du patrimoine naturel canadien, le gouvernement engagera une somme de 90 millions de dollars au cours des trois prochaines années et, par la suite, il stabilisera ce financement à 45 millions de dollars par an pour créer une Stratégie nationale concernant les espèces en péril.
