L'AINB a été fondée et incorporée en 1958 sous l'acte des compagnies du Nouveau-Brunswick. Les principaux objectifs de l'AINB sont décrits dans cet acte privé. Cet acte définit les règlements généraux en ce qui concerne les pratiques d'échanges de l'immobilier et la gouverne des membres de l'Association. Il sert aussi à protéger l'intérêt public. De plus, cette loi favorise l'établissement, le maintien, le développement des connaissances et des habilités des membres de l'Association. Ainsi, cette loi assure aux membres des standards et des pratiques à jour dans le domaine immobilier.
