In the classroom setting eye contact of the teacher, as non-verbal cue, is very vital and directly affects the learning of the students in addition to the classroom management. Eye contact is a tool of teaching, which a teacher can use very efficiently and effectively for the enhancement and achievement of students’ learning outcomes.

Les messages non verbaux sont des messages transmis par des moyens autres que linguistiques, en dehors des mots. La communication non verbale module la communication verbale, elle la complète, l’accentue, la remplace ou oriente sa signification. Elle peut aussi la contredire. Dans ce cas, on a tendance à se fier davantage aux indices non verbaux, car ceux-ci sont généralement plus spontanés et plus difficiles à contrôler que les mots. Pourtant, les messages non verbaux portent beaucoup plus à interprétation, ils sont plus difficiles à décoder et, par conséquent, plus ambigus. Il est important de tenir compte de l’ensemble des indices non verbaux disponibles afin de décoder correctement les messages et de demander au besoin des éclaircissements.
