Lorsqu'un numéro GP [grand public] ou DIN [identification numérique de la drogue] est délivré, son détenteur est tenu d'en aviser le PPT [Programme des produits thérapeutiques] dans les 30 jours suivant la mise en marché du produit au Canada. Il le fait en signant et en retournant le formulaire de déclaration des médicaments qui lui est remis au moment de la délivrance du numéro GP ou DIN. Le produit est alors considéré comme déclaré.
