OBS

Polarity (electricity). A term which refers to the designation of positive and negative terminals in an electric circuit carrying a current. The choice positive charge, and thereby of positive potential, is a purely arbitrary one which had been made long before the discovery of the electron. It is now known that the primary current carriers in most circuit elements are electrons, which possess negative charge.
