Le principe de base de [ce magnétomètre] consiste à mesurer la fréquence de résonance magnétique de la vapeur de césium. Cette fréquence est proportionnelle à l'intensité du champ magnétique dans lequel la vapeur de césium est placée. La détection de cette résonance est rendue possible grâce à la procédure de pompage optique.
