Treatment of wood or pulps in an alkaline medium with oxygen at specified treatment conditions which, through oxidation, degrades and solubilizes lignin. 3, record 1, English, - oxygen%20delignification
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Oxygen delignification is an established technology as a stage placed between the pulping digesters and the bleach plant to remove up to half of the residual lignin in the brown stock without damaging the strength properties of the pulp. The remaining lignin is best removed by the conventional chlorine bleaching methods, but using less chlorine based chemicals which reduces the pollution problems caused by the chlorinated organic compounds in the effluent. Magnesium may be added to protect the cellulose from degradation during oxygen delignification. 3, record 1, English, - oxygen%20delignification
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Oxygen bleaching (or delignification, or «prebleaching») was developed commercially during the late 1960's and early 1970's in Sweden and South Africa. 2, record 1, English, - oxygen%20delignification

1, record 1, French, - d%C3%A9lignification%20%C3%A0%20l%27oxyg%C3%A8ne
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
1, record 1, French, - d%C3%A9lignification%20%C3%A0%20l%27oxyg%C3%A8ne
