Quantité d'ozone stratosphérique disparue pendant une période donnée par rapport à la quantité moyenne normale pour la même période.

OBS

La perte d'ozone s'évalue généralement en pourcentage. Si on constate une diminution d'ozone de 150 unités Dobson alors que la moyenne attendue est de 300 unités Dobson, on dira que la perte est de 50 %.

OBS

Dans un bilan, si la quantité d'ozone est supérieure à la quantité moyenne normale, on parlera de gain d'ozone (ozone increase, en anglais).
