In line with the provisions of the 1999 Montreal Convention and Council Regulation (EEC) N° 2027/97 on air carrier liability, as amended by European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) No 889/2002 of 13 May 2002, passenger liability is based on the notion of strict liability, irrespective of tort found on the account of the air carrier concerned, for claims up to 100 000 SDRs (Special Drawing Rights) as these are defined by the International Monetary Fund. 1, record 1, English, - passenger%20liability
