Another phytoremediation process is phytodecontamination. Definition: The contaminants can be degraded or removed from the soil matrix, through the process of rhizosphere degradation and phytoaccumulation/phytoextraction, respectively. These processes are different from phytostabilization, which only binds the contaminant and reduces its mobility.
