Potassium sulfide is a reddish-coloured solid having a strong odor. It is hygroscopic and oxidizes spontaneously on contact with air. Spontaneous ignition may occur in material improperly packed. Potassium sulfide, crystallized (minimum 35 % water), is not restricted.
