Le syndrome de Protée est une maladie rare caractérisée par une croissance importante des os, de la peau et d'autres tissus. Les organes et les tissus affectés par cette pathologie se trouvent d'une taille disproportionnée par rapport au reste du corps. Cette grosseur anormale de certains organes et/ou tissus est généralement asymétrique.

OBS

Le syndrome de Protée est une maladie génétique, il est la conséquence d'une mutation au niveau du gène AKT1. Cette maladie n'est cependant pas héréditaire, car non transmise à la descendance.
