Dans le domaine de la télédétection, on utilise quelquefois, abusivement à notre avis, le terme «cliché» pour désigner une image acquise par un capteur de télédétection. Ce terme renvoie à l'époque où les images étaient acquises sur un support analogique. Or, la très grande majorité des capteurs couramment utilisés sont numériques : l'image se forme sur de petites zones «photo-excitables» discrètes.
