Selon le grand Dictionnaire encyclopédique Larousse (code LAROG), le terme «revival» appartient à un niveau de langue soutenue. Selon le grand ROBERT (code ROBER), «revival» est un anglicisme. Mais faut-il, dans une expression du type «Queen Anne Revival» ou «Domestic Revival», le remplacer par un équivalent français? Ou encore le garder et ne pas traduire de telles expressions, en les considérant comme des noms propres? Nous ne pouvons nous prononcer là-dessus. «Réapparition» : ce terme nous semble le plus neutre. Malheureusement il ne couvre pas parfaitement la notion de l'anglais «revival». «Résurgence» comporte l'idée de «apparaître brusquement de nouveau» que n'a pas le "revival". «Revivalisme», qui est le dérivé direct de «revival», n'est attesté que pour désigner le mouvement du réveil protestant. «Reviviscence», enfin, comporte l'idée d'un «retour à la vie» ou «aux manifestations de la vie». C'est un terme littéraire ou un terme du domaine de la biologie. Il n'est par attesté au sens de «revival» mais il est utilisé par le grand Robert pour définir ce dernier. En somme, c'est peut-être le terme qui se rapproche le plus de la notion de «revival» et qui, pour cette raison, devrait être préféré. 2, record 10, French, - revival
