Thinned rib seen in neurofibromatosis and regenerated ribs after resection, and occasionally in Gorham's disease, hyperparathyroidism, Morquio's disease, Melnick-Needless syndrome, osteogenesis imperfecta, paraplegia, polyomyelitis, rheumatoid arthritis, sclerodermia, severe osteoporosis, trisomy 13 syndrome, and trisomy 18 syndrome.
