Les prairies semi-arides et pauvres en nutriments sont des types très particuliers de prairies que l'on trouve à des endroits qui manquent de nutriments et qui sont secs. [...] Comme ces terres sont relativement improductives à des fins agricoles, beaucoup de ces prairies semi-arides et pauvres en nutriments ne sont plus utilisées et subissent une invasion de brouissailles, ce qui entraîne à son tour le déclin de leur biodiversité extrêmement spéciale et adaptée.
