Ne pas confondre avec «grapefruit» (communément appelé «pamplemousse» au Canada). En fait, «pamplemousse» est le nom juste pour désigner le fruit de Citrus grandis et non le fruit de Citrus paradisi («grapefruit»), ce qui explique la remarque du Larousse agricole : «Pamplemousse : nom donné communément et à tort au pomelo [grapefruit]». Par contre, cette remarque me semble un peu catégorique et même puriste puisqu'au Canada «pamplemousse» est bel et bien passé dans l'usage pour désigner le fruit de Citrus paradisi [grapefruit] et est même sanctionné par l'OLF (cf. OLFFU, 1991, page 33) De même, au Canada, on emploie «pomélo» pour désigner le véritable «pamplemousse» (fruit de Citrus grandis) (cf. OLFFU, 1991, page 34). 5, record 2, French, - pamplemousse
