Using a sulky makes it possible to increase the hauling distance up to about 500 metres. This axle, equipped with two automobile wheels, is designed to support the ends of the trunks which usually drag on the ground. It consists of an axle about 1.5 m (5 ft) wide whose rounded surface makes it easier for the trunks to slide. A removable stake is installed on each side of the sulky, to contain the load. A tube welded perpendicular to the front of the axle, with a chain on the end, is used to attach the load firmly. 1, record 4, English, - sulky

1, record 4, French, - essieu%2Dporteur
