La sécheresse estivale est une spécificité du climat méditerranéen, qui se caractérise par la coïncidence entre la saison sèche et celle des plus fortes températures. Ces dernières dépassent alors souvent les 30 °C et les précipitations sont faibles voire inexistantes dans certaines régions.
