Ordre qui regroupe plus de 600 espèces. Ce type d'araignée se caractérise par sa grande vitesse, ses habitudes nocturnes ainsi que par ce qui semble être une quatrième paire de pattes, mais qui n'est en réalité qu'une paire de chélicères (pédipalpes). Ce sont des araignées de grande taille (peuvent atteindre près de 12 cm), inoffensives pour l'humain.
