Si la faute est commise sur un joueur qui ne tire pas au panier, l'arbitre doit se saisir du ballon et le donner à ce joueur ou à l'un de ses coéquipiers. Le joueur qui effectue la remise en jeu a 5 s pour ce faire une fois que l'arbitre lui a donné le ballon.
