L'extrusion soufflage donne dans un premier temps une gaine mince qui, par fendage, fournit une feuille. Elle s'opère ainsi : un tube est extrudé verticalement par une boudineuse à tête d'équerre. [...] À 1,50 ou 2 mètres environ de la tête, distance généralement suffisante pour que par suite du refroidissement les parois ne collent plus, la gaine est pincée entre deux rouleaux et entraînée par des cylindres sur lesquelles le [tube] achève de se refroidir. Elle peut être utilisée telle quelle pour la confection des sacs, ou refendue longitudinalement pour aboutir à une feuille dont la largeur sera égale à la circonférence du tube expansé. 6, record 1, French, - gaine
