À New York (Flushing Meadows) sur surfaces rapides. Seul le titre anglais est officiel, d'où le fait que dans la presse française, on voit les graphies suivantes : «le US Open», «l'US Open» ou «l'US Open de tennis», le dernier plus précis encore étant donné qu'il existe aussi un «US Open» pour le golf. Néanmoins, au Québec on traduit souvent le terme «open» par «internationaux» ou par «omnium».
