Il existe différents procédés pour parvenir à [l'] enrichissement de l'uranium. Le principal est celui de la diffusion gazeuse. En France, il est mis en œuvre à l'usine Georges-Besse d'Eurodif, implantée sur le site du Tricastin, dans la Vallée du Rhône [...] Ce procédé de diffusion gazeuse a été mis en œuvre dès 1985 à l'usine de COGEMA de Pierrelatte, pour obtenir de l'uranium à haut enrichissement destiné à la Défense Nationale.
