C est du 19 au 29 mai 2005 que se déroulait le 10e Festival de courtepointes du comté et de la région de Waterloo, qui comptait plus de 20 événements et plus de 2000 courtepointes. L'Association canadienne de la courtepointe (ACC) prenait part aux festivités. L'ACC présentait des ateliers, des expositions et, bien sûr, le National Juried Show toutes ces activités se déroulaient sur le campus de l'Université Wilfred-Laurier, à Waterloo. Les événements tenus par l'ACC ont eu lieu du 25 au 28 mai, entre autres le gala de l'association qui était prévu pour le 28 mai.
