[The person who is] responsible for a staff which operates word processing equipment. That equipment may consist of intelligent typewriters, multistation word processing systems, or terminals connected to a general purpose computer. The Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of that equipment, for scheduling jobs, for assigning work to operators, for operator training, and for maintaining logs. Usually will understand the programming of that equipment, and may be involved in the evaluation and selection of the hardware and software. DATAM
