"The Old Farmer's Almanac", founded by Robert Bailey Thomas in 1793, and still popular, is the oldest surviving almanac in the United States. It retains its old form and much of its old content, prophesying wind and weather and including droll anecdotes, old jokes, moral tales, and homespun verse.
