La flucytosine (Ancotil(R)) est un fongistatique analogue structural fluoré de la cytosine. Elle pénètre dans les cellules fongiques grâce à une enzyme de transport spécifique n'existant pas chez les mammifères puis est rapidement métabolisée en fluorouracile dans le cytoplasme cellulaire par la cytosine desaminase. Ce composé après phosphorylation est incorporé à l'ARN et inhibe la synthèse protéique. Par ailleurs, après métabolisation par la cellule fongique, ce composé inhibe une enzyme de la synthèse de l'ADN et interagit avec la synthèse des acides nucléiques du champignon. 1, record 1, French, - flucytosine
