Texturation : opération qui confère aux fils multifilamentaires des propriétés améliorées d'élasticité, de gonflant et de douceur au toucher. Les fils de filaments continus subissent un traitement thermomécanique par « texturation », ce qui confère aux filaments une forme ondulée conduisant à un fil gonflant désigné sous le nom de : « fil mousse ». La texturation en continu est appliquée aux fils chimiques. Ces fils texturés ont un fort gonflant qui donne une impression de chaleur au toucher; un pouvoir d'isolation thermique, un pouvoir d'absorption d'humidité.
