The Alberta Powerlifting Union (APU) is a provincial affiliate to the Canadian Powerlifting Union (CPU). It is a completely non-profit and volunteer organization regulating both 3-lift Powerlifting and Bench Press Only within the province of Alberta. The APU is dedicated to it's mission of: promoting and developing drug tested powerlifting on a provincial scale, providing a safe and fair environment for which to compete in powerlifting, maintaining and enforcing the rules of the sport by appointing and training qualified referees, hosting and regulating ... provincial championships as vessels for athletes to progress to a national level of competition.
