La retroalimentación en los circuitos de los amplificadores se obtiene, por lo general, por medio de un resistor de la salida a la entrada. Una propiedad importante de esta clase de amplificadores es que si usa un capacitador apropiado en la vía de retroalimentación, en lugar de un resistor, la salida será el derivado de la salida. De esta forma, se pueden ejecutar las operaciones de cálculo con el amplificador.
