Les anticorps anticardiolipine «faux BW positifs». La réaction de Bordet-Wassermann, utilisée dans la recherche des anticorps anti-syphilitiques, est une réaction de fixation du complément vis-à-vis d'extraits alcooliques de divers organes dont le cœur (la cardiolipine). Des anticorps anticardiolipine peuvent apparaître précocement dans le lupus. Ces «faux BW positifs» se distinguent aisément de ceux observés dans la syphilis par la négativité du test d'immobilisation des tréponèmes de Nelson.
