Antigen detection is based on the use of antibodies that bind specifically to viral antigens. Various [antigen detection] techniques have been developed, including immunofluorescence and immunoperoxidase stainings or solid-phase immunoassays such as agglutination tests, radioimmunoassay (RIA), and enzyme immunoassay (EIA).
