2, record 10, French, - arthrite%20post%2Dtraumatique

Osteoarthritis is a form of non-inflammatory arthritis, which is caused by the breakdown of cartilage, which covers and protects bones. Often due to "wear and tear", pain and swelling can occur when the cartilage breaks down. Eventually, the cartilage may wear away entirely and bones will rub together. 7, record 17, English, - osteoarthritis

degenerative joint disease (DJD); degenerative arthritis: [Osteoarthritis] has always been classified as a noninflammatory arthritis; yet, there is increasing evidence for inflammation occurring with cytokine and metalloproteinase release into the joint. Therefore, the terms "degenerative joint disease (DJD)" [and "degenerative arthritis" may] no longer [be] appropriate when referring to [osteoarthritis]. 8, record 17, English, - osteoarthritis

5, record 17, French, - arthrose

Some confusion exists regarding the terms carpitis and osselets; therefore, a definition is appropriate. Carpitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the carpal joint that may involve the fibrous joint capsule, synovial membrane, associated ligaments, and bones of the carpus ... Osselets has been defined as a traumatic arthritis of the metacarpophalangeal joint. It is more appropriate to restrict the term osselets to describe the thickening associated with synovitis and capsulitis of the fibrous joint capsule at the dorsal aspect of the metacarpophalangeal joint. Ossification can develop as a chronic change. 6, record 28, English, - carpitis

GOUT - Synonyms include podagra, crystalline arthritis (uric acid). In past centuries, the term gout meant a drop of diseased "humours"... Gout is now considered a metabolic disease occurring in paroxysms, with painfully inflamed joints, deposits of uric acid crystals in the joints and fibrous parts about the joints, and usually an elevated serum uric acid. It is usually monoarticular. 1, record 50, English, - crystalline%20arthritis

It consists of discrete or confluent macular or maculopapular red or salmon-pink, usually non-pruritic lesions, but also found on the face and extremities. The rash may be evanescent, appearing primarily with fever. There may be a positive Koebner phenomenon (rash precipitated promptly by stroking or irritating skin). 1, record 54, English, - juvenile%20rheumatoid%20arthritis%20rash

3, record 54, French, - %C3%A9ryth%C3%A8me%20rose%20vermillon
