BLUE STRAGGLER [1 record]

Record 1 2003-11-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • The Stars (Astronomy)
  • Astrophysics and Cosmography
CONT

Blue stragglers are one of the few remaining mysteries of main sequence stellar evolution. These odd stars were first noticed in clusters at higher luminosity, and bluer colours, than the main sequence turnoff. Thus their ages appear substantially less than the ages of the clusters that they are part of.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Étoiles (Astronomie)
  • Astrophysique et cosmographie
DEF
