BOW TIE SIGN [1 record]

Record 1 2017-11-29

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radiography (Medicine)
  • Musculoskeletal System
DEF

A sign of a unilateral locked facet of the cervical spine, due to a flexion-rotation injury. On the lateral view the facet joints at the level of the injury rotate: while the vertebrae below the lesion are in true lateral projection, the vertebrae above are seen obliquely. This results in a bow tie appearance.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Radiographie (Médecine)
  • Appareil locomoteur (Médecine)
DEF
