Within the last two years the Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB) has been made aware of two separate incidents involving the use of sealed sources employed in brachytherapy implant procedures.

OBS

Internal radiation therapy (brachytherapy) is the insertion of radioactive isotopes directly into tumors or tissues. These implants may be either permanent or removable, depending on the type, location, and condition.
