Project by Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Project Description: To design, test and evaluate the most appropriate brailer design for minimizing mortality of coho salmon in the commercial seine fishery. In pre-trials testing five different brailer designs, the two best designs were chosen for the Post-Release Survival Study: Barkley Sound 1998 Trials: the side purse brailer and sock style brailer.

Projet de Pêches et Océans Canada. Description du projet: Concevoir, tester et évaluer une salabarde adaptée visant à réduire au minimum la mortalité du coho dans la pêche commerciale à la senne. Lors des essais préliminaires, on a testé cinq conceptions différentes, et les deux meilleures ont été retenues pour l'étude sur la survie après remise à l'eau (réalisée en 1998 dans la baie Barkley) : la salabarde à accrochage latéral et la salabarde-chaussette.
