Ocean atmosphere carbon exchange. Carbon dioxide ... is a soluble gas [that] dissolves in the oceans and is taken up by marine plants (phytoplankton). A natural cycle results in which CO2 is absorbed from the atmosphere in some (generally cooler and more biologically active) parts of the ocean and released back to the atmosphere in other (generally warmer and less biologically active) parts. 1, record 1, English, - ocean%20atmosphere%20carbon%20exchange

1, record 2, French, - %C3%A9change%20de%20carbone

A carbon exchange envisions selling credits to offset carbon emissions. For example, the carbon credits could come from farmers who would sell the amount of carbon taken up by grasses and crops on their land and stored in the soil to industries needing to meet pollution reduction goals. 2, record 3, English, - carbon%20exchange

2, record 3, French, - bourse%20du%20carbone
