Health Canada. The Bureau of Food Regulatory, International and Interagency Affairs represents Canada in international organizations to influence the development of consensus policies, standards and agreements on food safety issues; liaises with other federal departments and agencies, provinces and territories, industry and other interested parties to develop nationally harmonized standards and policies for safe and nutritious foods; and manages the preparation of amendments to the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations related to the safety and nutritional quality of food sold in Canada and coordinates responses to access to information requests for the Directorate. The Bureau also acts as the Canadian contact point for the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

Le Bureau constitue également le point de contact canadien de la Commission du Codex Alimentarius.
