The CEC is a "not-for-profit" organization and is funded by the fees it generates from its members. The day-to-day operations are run by the president, who is the only paid member of the CEC. Other positions, such as those positions on the Board of Directors, are held on a volunteer basis. In addition, employer delegates who attend the International Labour Conference are seconded to the CEC by member organizations for the duration of the Conference Delegates are chosen on the basis of their expertise in the fields addressed in the Conference Committees.
