3, record 3, French, - flux%20ionique

The objectives of the study were (a) to characterize the range of photosynthetic responses in ten species of the Dipterocarpaceae and (b) to elucidate those photosynthetic characteristics that might provide a basis for niche partitioning. Seedlings were acclimatized (about 7 months) in three light environments; understorey, partial shade and a gap (140 m2). The light environments represented a gradation in median diurnal (0630-1830 hours) photon flux density (PFD) ranging from understorey ..., through partial shade ... to gap ... Integrated diurnal PFD were in the sequence gap > partial shade > understorey (15.2, 4.7, 1.3 mol m-2 day-1, respectively). 2, record 19, English, - photon%20flux%20density

Plants use the 400 to 700 nm waveband of the light spectrum for photosynthesis. A simple integral relationship exists between the number of molecules changed photochemically and the number of photons absorbed within the requisite waveband regardless of photon energy. The preferred measurement for PAR is Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD). This is the number of photons in the 400 to 700 nm waveband incident per unit time on a unit surface. Plant scientists, meteorologists, horticulturists, ecological survey groups and other environmental scientists are using this [Quantum PAR] sensor to measure PPFD in the atmosphere, growth chamber and greenhouse. 3, record 20, English, - photosynthetic%20photon%20flux%20density

Radial flattening of the power distribution … Radial flux (and power) flattening can be achieved by differential fuelling, i.e. taking the fuel to a higher burnup in inner core regions than in outer core regions. This can be done by judicious adjustment of the relative refuelling rates in the different core regions. In this way the flux and power in the outer region can be increased, resulting in a greater number of channels having power close to the maximum value. 1, record 66, English, - radial%20flattening

We have divided the canopy into three layers. Below-canopy woody tissues of canopy trees are treated as a fourth layer, and the soil and understory plants constitute a fifth layer. Within each layer, we are measuring important environmental variables including air temperature, photosynthetically photon flux (PFD), windspeed, and humidity. We are also measuring micro-environmental and plant physiological variables including PFD near leaf surfaces, temperature of respiring woody tissues, leaf nitrogen content and leaf water potential. The measurements of air temperature, wood temperature, PFD, wind, and humidity are made every 10 to 60 seconds and summaries of the data are stored each hour. 2, record 67, English, - photosynthetic%20photon%20flux

Since 1978, the Oceanic Flux Program (OFP) time-series sediment traps have continuously measured particle fluxes in the deep Sargasso Sea. The OFP program is by far the longest time-series of its kind, and has produced a unique record of temporal variability in the "biological pump". Results provided the first direct evidence for the existence of seasonality in the deep ocean, and evidence that fluxes of both biogenic and abiogenic materials to the deep ocean were directly linked to seasonal patterns in upper ocean productivity. The time-series particle flux record has documented significant interannual and longer timescale variability in material fluxes to the deep ocean, and in the composition of the sinking material. The record is now becoming long enough to identify and study longer-term periodicities and quasi-decadal trends in material fluxes to the deep ocean, and their coherence with North Atlantic climate variations. The Oceanic Flux Program provides new insights into interannual variability and decadal scale changes in ocean functioning. This information is of paramount importance for predicting future, possibly anthropogenically induced, climate changes. The operation of a nuclear reactor is usually monitored by neutron flux measuring instrumentation introduced into the core. This instrumentation consists of detectors which can be moved into different sites in the fuel charge during operation of the reactor. They are generally moved inside a plurality of guide tubes which penetrate into the core and which are closed at the end. 1, record 98, English, - neutron%20flux%20measuring%20instrumentation

Flux Thimble Guide Tubes. Flux thimbles are complements of the reactor in-core neutron monitoring or flux-mapping system. They are inserted into the reactor pressure vessel through the bottom ... A thimble guide tube is divided into two parts. The upper part is located inside the fuel assembly, while the lower insertion is located between the reactor vessel bottom and the lower core plate. 1, record 99, English, - flux%20thimble%20guide%20tube

1, record 99, French, - tube%20doigt%20de%20gant
