Record 1 2016-02-22

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemistry
DEF

Pore with a diameter of more than 50 nm.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie
DEF

Pore dont la largeur excède 0,05 µm ou 50 nm (500 Å).

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Química
CONT

La IUPAC [Unión Internacional de Química Pura y Aplicada] reconoce tres tipos de poros atendiendo a su tamaño: macroporos (> 50 nm), mesoporos (2-50 nm) y microporos (2 nm).

Record 3 1994-10-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Analytical Chemistry
DEF

Diffusion in "macro-pores" - pores that are large compared with the molecular diameter. Several different mechanisms contribute to macropore diffusion, notably ordinary molecular diffusion in larger macropores at higher pressures or in liquids and Knudsen diffusion in smaller macropores at low pressures.

Record 4 1981-04-01

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemistry
  • Pipes and Fittings
CONT

In order to withstand the head-loss caused by the combination of high speed and clogging, ion exchangers have to be highly resistant; macropore resins are most often used.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie
  • Tuyauterie et raccords
CONT

Pour résister à la perte de charge due à la fois à la vitesse élevée et au colmatage, les échangeurs d'ions doivent être particulièrement résistants : les résines macroporeuses sont les plus utilisées.
