CONT

ME/CFS is characterised by a sudden or gradual onset of persistent disabling fatigue, post-exertional malaise (PEM)/exertional exhaustion, unrefreshing sleep, cognitive and autonomic dysfunction, myalgia, arthralgia, headaches, and sore throat and tender lymph nodes (without palpable lymphadenopathy), with symptoms lasting at least 6 months. The fatigue is not related to other medical or psychiatric conditions, and symptoms do not improve with sleep or rest.

[MEAO] is a place of information, support and hope for people living with myalgic encephalomyelitis, sometimes known as chronic fatigue syndrome. [It] also [provides] information on the related illnesses of fibromyalgia (FM) and multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS). The Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Association of Ontario (MEAO) is a volunteer-run organization that has been serving the community since 1991. [It offers] information and support to people living with the illnesses, as well as family members, physicians and other professionals, and the general public.
