Qualifie un faisceau laser dont le pompage est assuré par la fusion d'atomes d'uranium - 235 que provoque un flux périodique de neutrons.

OBS

Ralenti par le revêtement de polyéthylène, le flux périodique de neutrons provoque la fission des atomes d'uranium - 235, dont les fragments excitent les molécules du gaz carbonique. Il en résulte un faisceau laser «neutro-pompé» dont la grande originalité est d'avoir été produit directement, sans le secours des équipements électriques complexes normalement indispensables.
