[Nuclear receptors provide] links between signaling molecules and the transcriptional system and they use several domains with different functions. The A/B domains are receptive to transactivation. The conserved C domains with Zn [zinc] fingers bind DNA (usually after dimerization). The D domain is a flexible hinge. The E domain binds ligands (hormones, vitamin D, etc), dimerizes, and controls transcription. 1, record 2, English, - nuclear%20receptor

The immediate-early gene NGFI-B encodes an orphan nuclear receptor that binds DNA as a monomer and activates transcription through a canonical response element (NBRE). NGFI-B is expressed under basal conditions and in response to external stimuli in many mammalian tissues. In particular, NGFI-B expression is dramatically elevated in the adrenal cortex in response to stress and in Y1 adrenocortical cells in response to adrenocorticotropin. NGFI-B activates transcription through a NBRE of the gene encoding 21-hydroxylase (P450c21) in Y1 cell. 2, record 3, English, - orphan%20nuclear%20receptor

1, record 3, French, - r%C3%A9cepteur%20nucl%C3%A9aire%20orphelin
