Minor sciatica will often disappear over time and it is rare for permanent nerve damage to result. If symptoms persist and worsen, or if they arise after a sudden injury, treatment may be necessary. Non-surgical treatments include controlling sources of inflammation and pressure, as well as physical therapy. Bilateral sciatica does not mean that the pain in both legs occurs the same way at the same time. The pain could alternate back and forth between the legs. It may occur primarily in one leg and occasionally occur in the other, or it may occur in both legs at the same time. Any one of the scenarios is possible at any time. The pain is similar to unilateral sciatica. It can be a shooting pain that goes down one or both legs, or it can be a chronic and burning pain in one or both legs. 1, record 7, English, - bilateral%20sciatica

The author explained that the alternating sciatica was caused by a mobile tumor in the intradural space that accompanied up and down acceleration and deceleration during jogging. Jogging created radicular pain by causing alternating pressure on the nerve roots. One patient experienced right leg pain when his body tilted to the right and left leg pain when his body tilted to the left. 1, record 10, English, - alternating%20sciatica
